[UPDATE] Clarkstown Police have identified the victims as members of the Morgan family, 49 year-old Watson Morgan, 43 year-old Ornela Morgan, and their two sons, ages 10 and 12. All four were found to have gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene. Watson Morgan was a sergeant with the Bronxville, NY, Police Department. Police believe Watson killed his wife and two children, prior to killing himself with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A handgun was recovered at the scene. Rockland County Executive Ed Day said, “As we try to make sense of this unimaginable tragedy our hearts break for the family involved in this devastating murder-suicide in Clarkstown.”

[EARLIER] Four were found fatally shot at a New City home early this morning following a welfare check by the Clarkstown Police Department. Police say a woman and two children were found dead of gunshot wounds, and a man was also found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The incident took place at 10 Clydesdale Court in New City. The victims’ identities are being withheld until additional family notifications can be made. Police say this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public, though they did not elaborate further. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Clarkstown Police Department at 845-639-5840.

The town of Clarkstown Friday issued an emergency order to prevent buses from dropping off migrants anywhere in town. The move follows New York City mayor Eric Adams’ executive order last week preventing buses from coming from out-of-state to bring migrants to the city. Chicago pulled a similar move last month, with Hoehman noting that their suburbs been overwhelmed, adding suburban communities don’t have the resources to handle high volumes of migrants. Under Hoehmann’s order bus companies face fines of $750 per person illegally dropped off plus impoundment of vehicle with related costs and fines. The emergency order will be effective for 30 days, for now. Hoehmann said the town board is expected to take legislative action this month.

The MTA has set dates for the final public hearings before their congestion pricing plan is slated to officially roll out. Rockland Congressman Mike Lawler of the 17th district told “The Morning Show” Wednesday called it a cash-grab by the MTA…

Earlier this month, the MTA board approved tolls that charge drivers $15 to enter Manhattan below 60th Street between 5am and 9pm on weekdays, and $3.75 overnight. Small trucks would pay $24, large trucks will be charged $36. At least two lawsuits are still challenging the plan. The hearings are scheduled for Thursday, February 29th at 6pm, Friday, March 1st at 10am, Monday, March 4th at 10am and 6pm. The MTA is still accepting comments online, by email, regular mail, fax and voicemail.

EARLIER: The Clarkstown Police Department says Rt 59 all lanes are closed from Cemetery Lane (southern entrance of Palisades Center) to Bobby Lane (ramp from Route 303 South), which is also closed. CPD officers and NYS DOT are on scene. Please find alternate routes of travel until the roadway is reopened.

About 30 percent of Pfizer’s Pearl River workforce will be laid off starting February 12th. That’s according to a New York State Department of Labor Worker Adjustment and Retraining notification. The move affects 285 employees. Pfizer cited economic reasons for the layoffs.
