President Bashar Assad fled the country and was welcomed safely to Moscow. But what happens next to the nation, which is currently being bombarded by Israeli forces, is unclear. Rockland Congressman Mike Lawler of the Hudson Valley’s 17th district told “The Morning Show” yesterday, it’s good that Assad is gone…
According to the Associated Press, armed opposition groups launched a large-scale attack in northwestern Syria on areas controlled by government forces, ultimately concluding with President Assad’s ouster on December 8th, this past Sunday. They also deployed ground troops into and beyond a demilitarized buffer zone for the first time in 50 years, part of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s promise to change “the face of the Middle East.”
