The Haverstraw Police Department is looking for someone who shot and wounded a 24-year-old man on Church Street in Garnerville late Sunday night. Published reports say the unidentified victim will survive his injuries. He was listed in stable condition at Westchester Medical Center. Rockland Offers Free Disaster Preparedness Program Tonight in Pomona
Rockland County is offering free disaster preparation training starting tonight. County Executive Ed Day says it’s important to be ready in case of emergency…
Tonight’s class is an “Introduction to Disaster Preparedness.” Registration is not required for the event that’s being held tonight from 7-9pm at the Fire Training Center in Pomona. It’s designed for residents 14 and up. Next Tuesday, the focus will be on Disaster Medical issues including CPR certification, and a second class is being held March 23rd that will focus on Basic First Aid. Orangetown Supervisor: Major Changes Coming Bradley Corporate Park
Orangetown’s supervisor expects the Bradley Corporate Park to get a major face lift from its new owners. Bradley Corporate Park is a 1.2 million-square-foot complex of 17 buildings on about 180 acres off Route 303 in Blauvelt. Supervisor Teresa Kenny expects Onyx Equities will be putting in lots of money to improve the area and bring in new tenants…
Trade publication “Commercial Property Executive” has reported the property was sold last May to Angelo Gordon and Onyx Equities for $94 million. Former owner John Magee sold the property to satisfy creditors in a separate bankruptcy case.
Ramapo ZBA Approves Bluefield Extension Project, Again
Ramapo’s Zoning Board of Appeals has approved a multi-family housing project, despite a previous ruling by a judge overturning its original approval. The Bluefield Extension was approved again Thursday night in a five-to-nothing vote. The vote clears the way for the project on around an acre off Union Road. In an email, Michael Miller of CUPON said the board was biased in favor of the builder, and the group is meeting with attorneys and others to consider their next move.
