A discrimination lawsuit has been filed against members of the Hi-Tor Animal shelter and the county. Filed late last month by two former employees, the suit claims racial discrimination by a board member and wrongful termination. LoHud.com says the suit is seeking unspecified damages, compensation and lawyers fees. Hi-Tor’s attorney, Kevin Shehan, told WRCR he could not comment on employee matters or the lawsuit.

One Dead in Wrong-Way Crash on 287 in Westchester Thursday Night
One is confirmed dead after a wrong-way crash shut 287 in Westchester for hours late last night. New York State Police responded to the incident involving three vehicles on the Cross Westchester Expressway eastbound around 8:30 last night near exit 9 on the Harrison-White Plains border. No other information was available.
Two GoFundMe Campaigns Launched for Suffern Teen Found Dead After Going Missing for a Month
Two GoFundMe campaigns have been set up for the family of the Suffern teen whose body was found earlier this week. 19 year-old Wilson Atz-Roldan went missing in late December, and his body was found near Antrim Lake on Sunday. Wilson lived here in Suffern with his father, who will be sending his son back to their native homeland of Guatemala to be buried. Kinchley’s Tavern in Ramsey, New Jersey, where Wilson worked, has set up a GoFundMe page, and another one’s been set up by Silvia Namnun of the Ramapo Central School District. New York State Senate Passes Payroll Misappropriation Bill
The New York State senate has passed a bill that would make misappropriating payroll a crime in New York. Last September, an upstate payroll processing company — MyPayrollHR —stopped processing payroll transactions for its clients. Rockland and Westchester state senator David Carlucci says families were left unable to pay their bills because they never got their paychecks…
MyPayRollHR CEO Michael Mann was charged by the FBI with committing $70 million in bank fraud. Mann has not yet entered a plea. Mann’s attorneys and federal prosecutors have asked for more time to study the case.
