An East Ramapo school board trustee, the husband of the town of Ramapo’s deputy supervisor, has been charged with grand larceny and criminal impersonation. The Rockland D-A’s office told Lohud.com that former town employee, 65 year-old Bernard Charles, tried to rent the town’s Cultural Arts Center to a third party and pocket the more than $1,000 fee. Charles was reportedly arrested Friday morning and charged with felony fourth-degree grand larceny and second-degree criminal impersonation. Charles was released without bail. He is due in Spring Valley Justice Court for arraignment on January 21st.

Part of Pearl River Man’s Civil Suit Against Actor Alec Baldwin Dismissed
A Manhattan judge has reportedly dismissed part of a lawsuit filed by a Pearl River man against actor Alec Baldwin over a parking-spot dispute in the city last year. NBC reports Wojciech Cieszkowski’s claims of assault and battery remain in his civil suit against the actor. Both sides are due in court in February.
Stony Point Fatal Hit-and-Run Victim ID’d
The victim of Tuesday’s alleged hit-and run incident in Stony Point has been identified. 35-year-old Maria Osai was pronounced dead at Westchester Medical Center shortly after the crash at the intersection of Route 9W and Filors Lane around 8:45 Christmas Eve. Airmont Man Indicted in Bank Robberies
An Airmont man has been indicted for robbing New York banks earlier this year. 29 year-old Yosef Ziegler was arraigned Monday and ordered held without bail. The U-S Attorney for the Southern District of New York said last month Ziegler started his bank-robbing spree with the Chase Bank at Pacesetter Shopping Center on Route 202 in Pomona last January. That was allegedly followed by another heist in Park Ridge, New Jersey, in April, one in Wappingers Falls in June and then in October in Fishkill. In all four cases he reportedly claimed to have a bomb or explosives. Ziegler faces 25 years in prison for each of the three counts of bank robbery that he faces in New York.
