You remember Bernie Williams playing centerfield for the New York Yankees, chasing down fly balls and hitting home runs. But did you know he is also an accomplished musician? Well he and his band are coming to North Rockland High School this Thursday night for a charity concert to benefit the Rockland Conservatory of Music in Pearl River. Marigene Kettler is the executive director of the Conservatory, and says a performance from a famous celebrity like Williams helps raise their profile in the area, and that helps the kids in the program…

Funds raised will benefit their tuition assistance program and their music therapy program, as well. The concert is Thursday at 6:30 at North Rockland High School in Thiells. Tickets for adults cost $25, students $10, and MVP passes are $51, and that includes a post-concert “Meet & Greet” with Williams. For more information visit RCMNY.org or click here.

Last week the Rockland County Legislature saw a tremendous overflow crowd eager to talk about code enforcement and anti-semitism. It came in the wake of a promotional video posted, then removed from, the Rockland GOP’s Facebook page. While the crowd inside was packed to capacity, hundreds more were outside, and many others hoping to find a quality, online-stream were disappointed. Rockland County Executive Ed Day says next year’s budget will change that…

Day is hoping no one strikes this from his budget proposal once it’s sent to the legislature for review.

Rockland County Legislator Aney Paul is spearheading a local effort to collect items for Hurricane Dorian victims in the Bahamas. Rockland County Haiti Relief, the JB Foundation of Haiti and Konbit Neg Lakay of Spring Valley are collecting donations today and tomorrow. The items will be taken to the Consulate General of the Bahamas in Manhattan, which will then ship the items to those in need next week. All donations must be dropped off at 16 East Church Street in Spring Valley today from 9-9 or by noon tomorrow. Call 845-425-4623 for more information. Then, Haverstraw supervisor Howard Phillips says, on Saturday you can attend the sixth annual Haverstraw Riverwide arts and music festival at Emeline Park…

The event runs from 11 to 5pm. While there you can take a free ferry ride across the Hudson thanks to NY Waterway. A shuttle bus will pick up guests at the ferry lot at Girling Drive and make drop-offs in Emeline Park. Ferry rides will also be available on Sunday the 15th. Over in Stony Point, supervisor Jim Monaghan says tomorrow is the Stony Point PAL’s Fall Festival and Family Fun Day…

And that can all be enjoyed at Kirkbride Hall tomorrow from 10-4pm.

It’s been a county-wide tradition for a decade…the Rockland Lodge 2176 of the Sons of Italy is hosting its 10th Annual Blauvelt Italian Feast and Carnival. Greg DeCola of the Sons of Italy organized the event, and says besides the rides and entertainment, there’s something else to be enjoyed at the feast…

The Italian Feast runs through Sunday at the Tappan Masonic Park Fair Grounds off Western Highway. Parking and kids under 12 are free, admission for adults is $5.00.
