The Hudson Valley Humane Society is holding its bi-annual yard sale this weekend in Pomona. Leslie Sanderson with the Humane Society says the two yard sales they host during the year are their primary fundraising events…

Safiya Raheem is their director of community and government affairs, and says 10,000 New Yorkers are currently waiting for a transplant, and Organ Donation Day is a good chance to help them…

Every 18 hours a New Yorker dies waiting for an organ transplant. That’s partially because there aren’t enough New Yorkers registered as organ donors…only 35% are. Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland is hosting their 11th Annual Anniversary celebration dinner next week and honoring four area residents for their “Hearts of Gold.” CCCSR’s new Executive Director, Dan Eudene, says each of the four has advocated for quality human services and programs in their own ways…

The dinner will help raise funds so the group can continue helping Rocklanders who need food, shelter, counseling and other services.
