A class-action lawsuit has been filed in state Supreme Court claiming the new law that ended religious exemptions for vaccinations in New York violates religious freedom. The bill was signed by Governor Andrew Cuomo, who expected legal challenges to the law, but felt it would still stand. As of yesterday, there were 280 confirmed cases of measles in Rockland County.

Bardonia Eye Doctor Gets 30 days in Jail for Sexually Abusing 12 Year-old Girl
A Bardonia eye doctor could’ve gotten a year behind bars, but a Clarkstown judge gave him 30 days and six years’ probation yesterday for sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl seven years ago. News 12 reports Dr. Hiten Lakhani will have to register as a sex offender, and prosecutors said Lakhani will still be able to practice ophthalmology when he gets out.

A fundraising dinner is being held by the Romanesque Lodge for a New City family displaced after their home caught fire last month.
