The Clarkstown Police Department is hoping there’s some video surveillance footage involving stolen high-end vehicles from Strawtown Road. Around 3am yesterday police got lots of calls regarding attempted larcenies in the New City area. Patrol Officers found a dark-colored Maserati sedan on Strawtown Road that had been reported stolen from New Jersey earlier that night. Police say the Maserati struck a police vehicle while trying to flee the scene. Two male suspects fled the Maserati on foot and were picked up by an awaiting white Porsche Cayenne SUV. Clarkstown Police chased the Porsche onto the northbound Thruway, but the chase ended there. The officer involved in the accident sustained minor injuries and was transported to Nyack Hospital for treatment. Police suspect the two cars may be connected to other vehicles stolen from the same area. If you have camera footage from Monday morning between 1 and 5 AM, contact the Clarkstown Police Department at 845-639-5800. Meanwhile, police remind you to remove keys and valuables from your cars, and keep the doors locked.
