SUEZ will not be including two fuel tanks in the company’s proposed new headquarters proposal for the former Tilcon site in West Nyack. The decision comes after a crowded Clarkstown Planning Board public hearing last week over the move to Old Mill Road near Lake Deforest. SUEZ will continue to seek final approval for its site plan, which the company says wouldn’t require any zoning variances or special permits. SUEZ will host a public information session about the new headquarters on Monday, the location of the meeting has not yet been set.

Stony Point Could See New Legislation for Project at Letchworth Village
Stony Point residents could get a first look tonight at legislation being proposed to help with a developer’s plans for the town’s 25 acres at Letchworth Village. Legislation is needed to change the zoning of part of the golf course so the developer could proceed with plans for the area, which would include keeping the golf course. The bill would need to be passed by the legislature and signed by the governor before the session ends June 19th.
Rockland Sheriff Thomas Goldrick Dies; Funeral Service Set
Funeral services will be held Friday for former Rockland Sheriff Thomas Goldrick who died Sunday in New City. LoHud.com reports Goldrick worked in the NYPD’s 44th Precinct and served as sheriff from 1982 to 1992. Goldrick took over from Ray Lindemann, who was succeeded by James Kralik, who died in 2017. Calling hours will be tomorrow night from 7 to 9 and Thursday afternoon from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Joseph Sorce Funeral Home in West Nyack. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 at St. Catherine’s Church in Blauvelt. Burial will follow at the Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill. He was 93 years old.
NY Moving Ahead to Require Seat Belts Be Worn in Back Seats of Cars
A local state senator wants a law requiring everyone to wear seat belts in the back seats of cars.
