Services are being held today for Ramapo’s former Receiver of Taxes and Deputy Finance Director, Nathan Oberman, who died Tuesday. The funeral service is at the Chapel at the Sanctuary of Abraham and Sarah in Paramus at 2:00 PM, and burial will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery on Forest Avenue in Paramus. He is survived by his two daughters and their families. He was 90 years old.

A man faces DWI charges after a hit-and-run accident yesterday in Central Nyack. Around 7:45 yesterday morning, Orangetown Police called Clarkstown police to help catch a maroon pickup truck with two men inside who had fled from the accident at the corner of Waldron Avenue and Route 59 by the exit 11 ramp off the Thruway. Clarkstown police detective Peter Walker says the pickup was found about a mile away, by the Rockland Paramedic building near the entrance to Palisades Center, but both suspects fled…
32 year-old Brandon Ware of Charlotte, North Carolina, was taken to Westchester Medical Center for a non-life threatening head injury. The passenger, 61 year-old Will Hochadel of Lakeland, Florida, was uninjured and not charged in the incident.
