The man killed in a motorcycle accident with an SUV Monday night in Haverstraw was identified as a New York City man. Lohud.com said 27 year-old Jolexis Jaramillo crashed on Route 9W and then died at Nyack Hospital, according to Haverstraw police. The accident is under investigation.

A former Middletown Fire Department lieutenant has pleaded guilty for his role in a Rockland and Orange County drug ring that distributed fentanyl, cocaine and other drugs. Orange County’s D-A said 48 year-old Paul Smith of Deerpark, a paid lieutenant with Middletown’s Fire Department when he was arrested earlier this year, faces up to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced in July.

Though he was disappointed with the inclusion of congestion pricing in New York State’s budget, a Rockland assemblyman said he’ll try to keep the pain to a minimum. A panel was set up to determine the eventual pricing structure for driving into Manhattan. Police are investigating a motorcycle accident that killed one in West Haverstraw last night. News 12 reports the accident happened near Helen Hayes Hospital on Route 9W. The road was closed for hours for the investigation but it has since re-opened. No other details were released.
