The Unity Celebration honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at Ramapo High School gets underway this afternoon at 3pm. The theme is “The African Diaspora, Resistance Through Music and Poetry.” The celebration is presented by the Martin Luther King Multi-Purpose Center, the East Ramapo Central School District and the Gordon Center for Black Culture and Arts. There’s also a breakfast this morning at nine at the St. Charles AME Zion Church in Sparkill, and the NAACP Nyack Branch’s Interfaith Commemorative Service is at 2pm today at the Pilgrim Baptist Church in Nyack.
