Orange County’s Exec, a member of the U.S. Navy Reserves, Called to Duty
The Orange County Executive has been called to the Middle East to serve in a special warfare unit. Lieutenant Commander Steven Neuhaus has been a member of the U.S. Navy Reserves for 11 years, and he left Sunday to serve in what has been described in published reports as a “high octane area.” Deputy County Executive Harry Porr will run day-to-day operations.
NY Gov Vows to Pass Reproductive Health Act Within a Month
Governor Andrew Cuomo yesterday declared he and the Legislature would pass the Reproductive Health Act in the first 30 days of the new legislative session. Cuomo spoke yesterday at Barnard College in Manhattan and said passing the legislation would codify Roe v Wade rights into state law…
Cuomo also wants to pass a bill this year that gets the ball rolling on a Constitutional amendment that would protect women’s rights to control their own reproductive health. A constitutional amendment would require passage by two elected Legislatures and approval by a public vote.
