Ramapo police say a pedestrian was killed after being struck by a car in Hillcrest last night. The incident occurred around 9 o-clock on West Eckerson Road, which was closed between Route 45 and Hempstead Road for more than four hours during the police investigation. Additional information was not available.

Ramapo to Review Status of Land and Properties at Monday Meeting
The Town of Ramapo’s Town Asset Review Committee, or TARC, will be holding the first of at least two public meetings this Monday to discuss the future of five properties in town. Supervisor Michael Specht says some those properties need further evaluation, including the Tilcon Quarry in Suffern, the Hamlets of Ramapo in Hillburn and the Ramapo Cultural Arts Center in Spring Valley…

Willow, NY, Woman Jailed After High-Speed Thruway Chase Ends with Troopers Injured
An Ulster County woman was jailed in Rockland Monday after she allegedly rammed two State Police cars, sending three State Police troopers to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 71 year-old Laura Duffy of Willow had earlier in the day eluded police twice in Ulster, and eventually ended up on the Thruway. Police flattened two of her tires during a high-speed chase, but she was able to make it to the Ramapo Service Area where she struck two state police vehicles. She made it to exit 15 before police caught up with her. She was charged with assault, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, unlawfully fleeing a police officer, disorderly conduct, and obstruction of governmental administration. She was sent to the Rockland County Jail on $25,000 bail.
