He’s got a year under his belt as supervisor of the town of Ramapo. Now Michael Specht says he has some specific goals for 2019…

Specht also is eager to hear about the ballpark’s potential cost savings and increased revenue ideas from the consultant that just started working for the town.

Over in Orangetown, another first-timer took the reins as supervisor. Chris Day says a slight change in the way meetings are conducted have helped speed things up in town and he’s proud of the addition of school resource officers in the town’s two high schools, but he had hoped to unload some properties a little more quickly…

Day says he looks forward to boosting tourism and film-shoots in the town, and to implementing plans for downtown revitalization in Pearl River.

Rockland County has a new Acting District Attorney. Kevin Gilleece was sworn in on Monday by County Clerk Paul Piperato. He’ll fill out the year remaining on former D-A Tom Zugibe’s term. Zugibe won a State Supreme Court position in November. Gilleece told LoHud.com he’s not interested in running for the position next November.

They can’t do them all at once, but if you want the town of Ramapo to consider fixing your roadway, it’s best to at least bring it to their attention. Ramapo highway superintendent Fred Brinn told “The Morning Show” last week that potholes are filled as-needed, but full repaving is done partially based on budgetary constraints…

A caller had suggested the eastern portion of town hasn’t gotten the attention it deserves…

Route 45 is a state road so that would fall under the state’s responsibility. Brinn said paving season ideally is springtime when temperatures are consistently above 50 degrees. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo was sworn in for his third term as Tuesday on Ellis Island. At times sounding more like a presidential candidate than New York’s governor, Cuomo touched upon a wide range of issues, raising doubts about the directions the country is headed and what he called our “deteriorating democracy.” Within the first 100 days of his third term, Cuomo promised to unveil the most progressive agenda this state has ever seen…

Cuomo says he feels liberated now that the legislature features a majority of Democrats. In previous years he says he felt as if he was fighting with one arm tied behind his back.
