Zoning changes could be coming to the downtown Nanuet area that could drastically alter the area surrounding the train station. That’s according to the Rockland County Business Journal. Publisher Tina Traster says the industrial area near the train station could become millennial-type housing…

Much of the development depends on the reliability and service from the train station, which has seen its share of service cuts of late with the installation of positive train control technology.

Bernard Rosenfeld, the mayor of the village of Kaser, died Sunday. Rosenfeld had served as Kaser’s mayor since its founding in 1990. Several Rockland County legislators attended Rosenfeld’s funeral Monday. Ramapo Legislator Aron Wieder called Rosenfeld a “smart, refined and genuinely nice person.” Minority Leader, Lon Hofstein, said Rosenfeld “was a highly respected man who dedicated his life to serving the people.” County Executive Ed Day said Rosenfeld worked tirelessly for the people of Kaser. He was 71.
