Haverstraw Changes Town Board Meeting Times
Haverstraw is moving the time of its town board meetings from 8pm to 7pm every 2nd and 4th Mondays each month. Supervisor Howard Phillips says the town used to videotape meetings, but people didn’t use that resource all that much…
Phillips hopes the new meeting times will make it easier for more people to attend. Again, instead of 8pm, town board meetings will be held at 7pm on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month.
Tappan Zee Basketball Tourney to Raise Money for Genetic Disorder Research
Tappan Zee High School is hosting the third annual “Two Counties, One Cause” basketball tournament starting tonight and tomorrow, a fundraiser to support the Children’s Tumor Foundation. 10 teams — five from Rockland and five from Westchester – face off on Saturday starting at noon. For the first time two girls’ teams will play each other, the Tappan Zee girls varsity team will face Sleepy Hollow on Friday night. Money raised will fund research into neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body. For more information and game schedules, click here.
