A Garnerville man was sentenced to up to three years in prison after pleading guilty in June to a fatal hit-and-run last summer. That’s according to News 12. 36 year-old Patrick Sharkey admitted to leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a revoked license and circumventing an interlock device. 18-year-old Dariel Rivera was riding an e-scooter to work on Route 303 in West Nyack when he was struck. Prosecutors originally sought a seven-year sentence.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll found that among voters who said they had heard at least something about Tuesday’s debate, 53% said Harris won and 24% said Trump won. 54% of registered voters thought the one debate between Trump and Harris was enough, while 46% said they wanted another one.

Stony Point Man to be Honored with Memorial Walk at Rockland Lake Sunday
A Stony Point man is being remembered Sunday in a memorial walk to bring attention to the rare condition that took his life last summer. 33 year-old Matthew Rau died in July 2023 of Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, or VEDS, a genetic disorder that affects the body’s connective tissues, and the circulatory system, including the heart.
