Opening Day for the New York Boulders just about a week away, and the Frontier League is making some changes to the game. Team president Shawn Reilly says they made some of the same alterations that Major League Baseball implemented this year, but not all of them…

Reilly says he wants to get games down from four hours to about 2:45, which he says would be better for families. The Frontier League also did not ban “the shift” by the defense. Opening Day is May 11th, and you’ll be able to hear all the local home games right here on WRCR.

Mark your calendars…for the fourth straight year, the annual “Never Forget Heroes Classic” baseball game between the NYPD and the FDNY returns to Clover Stadium in Pomona. This year’s classic will be played on Saturday, September 9th. The game is held each year in memory of those who died responding to the World Trade Center attacks of September 11th, 2001.

The New York Boulders hosted the Ottawa Titans for the Frontier League’s Eastern Division Wild Card single-elimination game last night in Pomona. The Boulders’ bats were pretty quiet most of the game, in their quest for 13 wins in a row. With two out in the bottom of the ninth, second baseman Gabriel Garcia came to the plate to try and get things going…

The New York Boulders host the Frontier League’s Eastern Division Wild Card Game against the Ottawa Titans tonight at Clover Stadium in Pomona. It’s a single-game elimination match-up with the winner facing the Quebec Capitals in the best-of-three Divisional Series on Friday.

The New York Boulders went into the weekend tied for second place with the Ottawa Titans in the Frontier League’s Eastern Division. They played a three-game series against the Three Rivers Eagles in the final games of the regular season. The Boulders won Friday, 8-7, they won Saturday, 13-10 in ten innings, and then they won Sunday, 8-5, for the sweep and their 12th win in a row. When the dust cleared, the Boulders took second place all to themselves and will host the Wild Card game at Clover Stadium against the Titans Wednesday night at 7pm.
