The New York Boulders signed six new pitchers to the roster, including 2015 North Rockland High School graduate Dan Wirchansky. He went on to pitch for Pace University. He had brief stints with the Milwaukee Brewers and the Texas Rangers, though he never got to pitch for either team. He underwent Tommy John surgery and is expected to begin his comeback with the Boulders this spring.

High-Risk Winter High School Sports Delayed until January 4th
The New York State Public High School Athletic Association has moved the start date for high-risk winter sports, including basketball, competitive cheer, ice hockey and wrestling, to January 4th. The change was made to minimize risk and exposure to COVID-19. Low- and moderate-risk winter sports, including bowling, gymnastics, indoor track & field, skiing, and swimming & diving, can begin on November 30th.
NY Boulders Sign Six, Trade Infielder Richie Fecteau
The New York Boulders yesterday announced the signing of six players and the acquisition of a seventh in a trade, sending infielder Richie Fecteau to the Washington Wild Things, a member of the Frontier League, in exchange for 24-year-old right-handed pitcher Jake Dexter. The 26 year-old Fecteau played just one season with the Boulders, their last in the CanAm League in 2019.

1993 Rockland Sports Hall of Famer Jimmy Kane Dies at 93
1993 Rockland Sports Hall of Fame inductee Jimmy Kane, who served as a sports official for over 50 years, died yesterday. Known as “The Commissioner of Rockland County Sports,” Lohud.com says Kane was still officiating games up until 2013. A wake for Kane is this Friday from 4-8 at Hannemann’s Funeral Home in Nyack. A funeral mass is scheduled for Saturday morning at 10 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church at in Nyack with burial at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet. He was 93 years old.
