1993 Rockland Sports Hall of Fame inductee Jimmy Kane, who served as a sports official for over 50 years, died yesterday. Known as “The Commissioner of Rockland County Sports,” Lohud.com says Kane was still officiating games up until 2013. A wake for Kane is this Friday from 4-8 at Hannemann’s Funeral Home in Nyack. A funeral mass is scheduled for Saturday morning at 10 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church at in Nyack with burial at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet. He was 93 years old.

New York Boulders Name New Manager for 2021 Season
The New York Boulders have named T.J. Stanton as their manager beginning next season, the team’s first in the Frontier League. The Boulders’ Seth Cantor says Stanton was named the Can-Am League’s Manager of the Year last year for his success with the Three Rivers Eagles…
Stanton is the team’s fourth manager. He replaces Kevin Baez, who managed the team for one full season last year.
Frontier League Becomes “Partner League” with MLB
The Frontier League announced a “historic agreement” with Major League Baseball, designating the Frontier League as a “Partner League.” So, Seth Cantor, GM of the Boulders, what does that mean?
And if all goes as planned, the Boulders will mark their tenth season with their first in the Frontier League in 2021. The league has also expanded to 15 teams, the newest as-yet-unnamed-team comes from Ottawa, Canada. The Quebec Capitals and Three Rivers Eagles also came over when the CanAm League joined with the Frontier League last October.

The All-American Baseball Challenge gets underway this Thursday at Palisades Credit Union Park in Pomona, the home of the Boulders, whose season was cancelled due to the COVID situation. The Challenge features a number of former local standouts from college and area minor or independent league teams. Boulders V-P of Business Development Seth Cantor says one of the players who will be taking the field for Rockland is Jonathan DeMarte, who’s played in Australia, Quebec, and just signed with the Chicago Cubs this past spring…
