The winner of Rockland State Senator Bill Weber’s “Five Towns of Rockland Blood Drive Challenge” with the American Red Cross is the Town of Clarkstown. The drive was held last week with the goal of replenishing the depleted blood supply and signing up new blood donors. Clarkstown secured 30 units and 18 new donors. Stony Point finished third by collecting 21 units of blood and 12 first-time donors, Ramapo secured 18 units and 11 new donors while Haverstraw got 15 units of blood and 7 new donors. Altogether, the five towns got 64 new donors and a total of 111 pints of blood, exceeding the goal by 11. Trophies will be given to the to the winners in each category.
