The New York State Education Department has cancelled the January 2021 High School Regents exams due to the ongoing COVID–19 pandemic. Modifications will be proposed to the requirements students need to earn high school diplomas. No decision has been made yet regarding the June and August 2021 Regents exams.
COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we’ve got one in the hospital being examined, another 22 have been confirmed with coronavirus, and a total of 909 active cases. The state says since the crisis began, we’ve had a total of 18,683 reported cases, 102 more than Thursday, and the number of deaths in the county since the pandemic began remains at 684.
