Six Rockland residents have been arrested and charged with selling fentanyl and cocaine. Rockland District Attorney Tom Walsh said the arrests came from a long-term investigation into street level narcotics sales in the Town of Haverstraw and the Village of Spring Valley. The Narcotics Task Force arrested four suspects from Spring Valley, one from Nanuet and another from Pomona. They range in age from 21 to 45, and each faces possession and criminal sales charges, all felonies.
A Spring Valley man was arraigned yesterday on charges of shooting a Yonkers man in October. Westchester D-A Miriam Rocah says 21 year-old Nahkeem Janvier faces Attempted Murder, Attempted Assault, and other charges stemming from the incident. Janvier allegedly fired three shots at the 33-year-old victim on Vineyard Avenue in Yonkers. The victim made it to Jacobi Medical Center and was treated for his injuries. Four days after the shooting, Janvier was captured in Charlotte, North Carolina by the FBI and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. He is being held without bail.
