The director of the adult home at the center of the fatal fire in March that killed a Spring Valley volunteer firefighter and a resident has turned herself in to Rockland County District Attorney’s Office investigators. The Journal News reports 61 year-old Denise Kerr of Brooklyn faces a single charge of second-degree reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor. She pleaded not guilty and was released on her own recognizance and is due back in court October 12th. 35 year-old Jared Lloyd and a 79 year-old resident of the Evergreen Court Home for Adults were killed during the March 23rd blaze. Five others have been charged in the incident, and the investigation remains active.
