Airmont’s former Deputy Mayor this week got a year in the county jail on six counts of illegal possession of weapons to which he pleaded guilty in February last year. That’s on top of the eight months Brian Downey got from the Feds for illegal possession of an unregistered firearm. That’s according to The Journal News. The sentences will run concurrently. Sentencing had been delayed a year while Downey was recovering after a serious motorcycle crash. Downey’s home was raided three years ago by federal and local authorities where they found an arsenal of weapons and numerous false federal and state law enforcement credentials.
