Former Spring Valley building inspector Ray Canario on Friday was found not guilty on three remaining misdemeanor charges in connection to the fatal fire at an adult home in the village two years ago. Felony charges against him had been dismissed by the judge earlier last week. Canario had been accused of filing false inspection reports in connection with the fire that killed a resident and firefighter Jared Lloyd at the Evergreen Court Home for Adults. Charges against former Spring Valley building inspector and Public Works Director Wayne Ballard were dismissed last month. Two rabbis, father and son Nathaniel and Aaron Sommer, still face felony charges for starting the fire while cleaning the facility for Passover.
