The former Nyack College, which closed its doors here in Rockland five years ago and moved its operations to the city, will close for good in August. That’s according to the Journal News. Now known as Alliance University, the Christian nonprofit school has been struggling financially for years. The former South Nyack campus is now owned by Ramapo-based Yeshiva of Viznitz. Orangetown and the new owners have been in court for proceedings that began when the school was in the former village of South Nyack. Some of the buildings on the campus are not going to be used, but Kenny says it’s not clear what the long-term plans are at this point.
