A now-former Rockland County Legislator was sworn-in to his new job, that in the New York State Assembly representing the 97th District. Republican John McGowan called the moment “overwhelming” but also called it a tremendous opportunity…
McGowan defeated Democrat Eudson Tyson Francois in November. His district covers parts of the towns of Orangetown and Ramapo, including the villages of Chestnut Ridge, Kaser, New Square, Piermont, Pomona and Spring Valley. He said his three top priorities are public safety and law enforcement, making New York more affordable, and fighting inflation.
