The national average for regular gasoline is spiking again. The Auto Club says it’s now $3.85 a gallon, that’s the highest it’s been since last October. We’re seeing some prices near and above the $4 mark here in the county. Connor Mahoney of Mahoney Asset Management in Chestnut Ridge says last year’s use of some of the nation’s strategic reserves to lower gas prices, perhaps wasn’t the best idea…
According to NPR, the Biden administration took 180 million barrels from the strategic oil reserve starting in March last year, leaving the stockpile at its lowest levels since the 1980s. Mahoney says get used to the higher gas prices, because it’s not likely to turn around any time soon.
