The Haverstraw Community Center is hosting a state pop-up vaccination site today, but all the appointments were just about snatched up as soon as they were announced. Haverstraw supervisor Howard Phillips is hopeful they can get another pop-up vaccination site from the state in the near future…
Meanwhile the state said yesterday the Federal government’s COVID-19 vaccine shipments for the last week through the 21st have been delayed due to the winter storms. Some doses have been held back, and a limited number of Pfizer vaccines left shipping facilities on Tuesday and Wednesday. As a result of the delay, the Rockland County Department of Health says the COVID-19 2nd dose vaccination clinics scheduled for Saturday 9 AM – 1 PM and Monday 9 AM – 6 PM have been rescheduled to Saturday, February 27th 9 AM – 1 PM and Monday, March 1st 9 AM – 6 PM.
COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we lost four more to COVID, the total is 871. We’ve got 48 hospitalized confirmed with coronavirus, and 1,518 active cases. Our total case count is 37,200, that’s 112 more than Thursday.
