New York and New Jersey are launching a new, mobile COVID Alert app that notifies users if they have been within six feet of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. The state said the app is completely anonymous and doesn’t track or collect any location or personal data from your phone. COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we’ve got seven in the hospital being examined, another 19 have been confirmed with coronavirus, and a total of 813 active cases. The state says since the crisis began, we’ve had a total of 15,636 reported cases, 184 more than Thursday (15,452), and the Rockland Health Department says the death count held steady at 677.
