Hurricane Milton made landfall as a Category 3 storm Wednesday evening south of Tampa Bay, but by this morning it was slowly moving away from Florida’s eastern shores by Cape Canaveral and out to sea. The Associated Press said storm surge is still a concern in many parts of Florida. CNN reported the storm ripped the roof off of Tropicana Field, the ballpark where the Tampa Bay Rays play baseball. It had been intended to be used as a makeshift shelter for thousands of first responders and cleanup crew.
