New York drivers will have five new plate designs from which to choose, one of them including the new Tappan Zee Bridge. One of the five designs will become the state’s new official license plate beginning in April next year. Two Republican State lawmakers, the Assembly Minority Leader and a Senator, both introduced legislation late last week that would prohibit the state DMV from requiring a fee when the design of the state license plate is changed.
