There’s been a push recently to try to limit the effects of social media on kids. They use their smartphones to visit various social media sites, prompting New York’s governor to go on a listening tour around the state to get educators’ input on kids and smartphone usage in schools. The “Safe for Kids Act” that the governor signed last month requires social media companies to restrict “addictive feeds” for kids under 18. It would also bar social media notifications between midnight and 6am without parental consent.
