As far as the mask mandate, the governor says starting today masks have to be worn in all indoor public places unless businesses or venues have a vaccine requirement. These requirements are for both patrons and staff. It’ll be effective until January 15th, at which time the state will re-evaluate the plan based on current conditions. Noting that in Rockland more than 82% of the 18-and-older-population and 99% of seniors have been vaccinated, Assemblyman Mike Lawler called Governor Hochul’s mask mandate “government overreach at its worst.”
