UPDATE 3:59pm: All detours in Rockland County have been lifted. All southbound I-87 lanes are now open. The northbound left and center lanes are also open however, the right lane remains closed. There are delays in both directions.
EARLIER: The NYS Thruway Authority says due to low-hanging power lines, all lanes on the Thruway (I-87/I-287) between exit 12 in West Nyack and exit 14 in Nanuet are closed in both directions. Motorists should plan for extended delays and are advised to seek alternate routes. Northbound traffic must exit at exit 12 (West Nyack – NY Route 303 – Palisades Center Drive) and southbound traffic must exit at exit 14 (Spring Valley – Nanuet – NY Route 59). Updates will be posted as they become available. Traffic is very heavy on the northbound side backed up onto the TZ Bridge, and southbound through Monsey. Route 59 between Spring Valley and West Nyack is also experiencing heavy traffic volume.
