Cases of the measles are on the rise in the U-S and around the world in spots, with one now confirmed on Long Island, the third in New York and the first outside the city. The CDC said Friday there’s 62 cases in the U.S. as of Thursday. They advise children and international travelers to get vaccinated. Measles is an airborne virus that mostly affects children under the age of five. The World Health Organization says it can be prevented in two vaccine doses.
