37 year-old Grafton Thomas of Greenwood Lake faces five federal charges of “obstructing the free exercise of religious beliefs by attempting to kill with a dangerous weapon” and each count carries a potential life sentence. His attorney has claimed Thomas suffers from mental illness. He was also reportedly arrested and released last summer in Orange County for allegedly menacing a police officer.
