You probably don’t like to admit it, but at some point, you probably fell, and perhaps you didn’t even know why. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says more than one in four older adults fall each year, but fewer than half tell their doctor. They say falling once doubles your chances of falling again. If these stats concern you, or it has happened to you, you might want to attend a special free 8-week fall prevention program “A Matter of Balance” coordinated by Montefiore Nyack Hospital. Trauma Program Manager Jennifer Pastiglione says the program can help you view and deal with falling differently…
“A Matter of Balance: Fall Prevention Program” begins on Thursday from 10am to noon at the Nyack Library on South Broadway. Advanced registration is requested. For more information and to register, call 845-348-2043 or send an email PastiglioneJ@montefiorenyack.org.
