A usually busy stretch of Route 59 in Nanuet was clogged yesterday after a fire at a nearby business. Clarkstown Police say heavy smoke was coming from the Thruway Deli, where the fire is believed to have started and which suffered the most damage. The deli was closed and unoccupied at the time. The Nanuet Fire Engine Company extinguished the blaze, one volunteer suffered a minor injury but was treated and cleared at the scene by the Nanuet Community Ambulance Corp. The cause of the fire is under investigation. If you have any information call the Clarkstown Police at 845-639-5800.
