Stony Point Man Accused in 3 Year-old Murder Heads to Psychiatric Center Before Arraignment
The Stony Point man nabbed earlier this month and charged in connection to a murder three years ago is now in a state psychiatric facility instead of being arraigned in County Court last Friday. That’s according to The Journal News. New York State Police charged Robert Rodriguez with second degree murder. Police say they responded to a car fire on the Palisades Parkway near exit 16. 36 year-old Ronald Mann of the Bronx was found dead in the car. The Rockland County Medical Examiner determined Mann had been fatally shot and his death was ruled a homicide. Rodriguez was to be arraigned on Friday, but reportedly the grand jury’s indictment has been paused until his mental health issues are taken care of. He’s also charged with possessing a loaded gun, arson, tampering with evidence, and concealing a human corpse. He was taken to the Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center after he was examined by a jail psychiatrist. No additional court dates have been set yet.
