A woman in her late 80s was reportedly killed in a two-car crash on Route 9W Saturday. News 12 reported Clarkstown Police were investigating whether the woman suffered a medical emergency before the crash. It appears she was heading southbound when she crossed over to the northbound side and struck another vehicle. The sole occupant of the second car was taken to the hospital with non- life-threatening injuries. It’s not clear precisely where the accident took place.
NJ Police Chase Alleged Burglary Suspects into Rockland
A police chase that started in New Jersey ended in Orangetown Saturday night. That’s according to MidHudsonNews.com. They reported police from the Closter, New Jersey, police department chased burglary suspects in a BMW SUV into New York around 9pm. The chase ended on Route 340 in Palisades when the BMW crashed. One of the occupants of the BMW was taken to Westchester Medical Center with serious injuries. Other passengers reportedly fled the scene on foot. The roadway was closed as Orangetown Police and the Closter P-D investigated the incident. No word on the whereabouts of the other occupants of the BMW.
NYC Man Pleads Guilty to Orange County Robbery
A Manhattan man faces five years in prison after pleading guilty last week to a robbery in Orange County last year. Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler says 22 year-old Aguibou Karambe pleaded guilty on Tuesday to second-degree attempted robbery. In February last year, Hoovler said Karambe and three other masked men entered the AT&T store in the Village of Monroe and stole various electronics from the store and left. They were tracked to Mount Vernon and found with proceeds from the robbery. Karambe will be sentenced in October.
