Rockland County District Attorney Tom Walsh says over 170 pounds of cannabis were seized in March from the five smoke shops in Clarkstown, Orangetown and Ramapo, along with more than $400,000. None of the shops, located in Nanuet, Pearl River, and Suffern, was licensed to sell cannabis. The investigation began when one of the shops was alleged to be selling pot to minors. The D-A’s office was assisted in the investigation by Homeland Security, the New York State Tax and Finance office, the State Office of Cannabis Management, New York State Police, and the Clarkstown, Orangetown and Suffern Police Departments.
