A nine year-old boy from Ramapo was critically injured Tuesday evening after being hit by a pickup truck and then pinned underneath a minivan. Ramapo Police Lieutenant Blaine Howell says the incident occurred around 5:10pm Tuesday at the intersection of Pioneer Avenue and North Airmont Road. Lieutenant Howell says the boy had just gotten off a school bus at Cherry Lane Elementary. A Ramapo Police Officer and several bystanders were able to lift the front end of the minivan and free the boy from underneath. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center where he is listed in critical but stable condition. The operator of the truck, a 43-year-old Spring Valley resident, remained on-scene and is cooperating with investigators. The investigation is ongoing.
