The New Jersey state legislature will be investigating NJ Transit’s “continued failures” to figure out how to turn the beleaguered transit agency around. They got $75 million in the 2020 state budget, but the agency needs more than that. NJ Transit’s executive director has not ruled out a fare hike. The agency rushed last year to install the federally-mandated emergency braking system by December. They have until 2020 to make sure the entire braking system works.
