After years of delays, the northern stretch of the Palisades Parkway finally has cell service. North Rockland and Orange County state senator James Skoufis says construction has been completed for two cell phone towers which have since been activated by Verizon. The towers are located at the Overlook Lodge in Bear Mountain State Park and at the south end of the Anthony Wayne Recreation Area. Listeners to “The Morning Show” know super-fan Mark would frequently bring up the dead zone to former state senator David Carlucci, who got the ball rolling on the towers, and the hosts of “Who Wants to Be a Volunteer”…
Other major carriers are expected to use the towers as well.
