The New York Boulders took on the Gateway Grizzlies in game one of their three-game series in Pomona. The Boulders had a 5-0 lead in the eighth inning, when the Grizzlies tried to get things going but their best hitter, Peter Zimmerman, struck out swinging. He started arguing with the umpiring crew over something and was immediately tossed from the game. After some more arguing, the very next play was a close call at the plate that went against the Grizzlies, leading to more arguing by the Grizzlies manager…
And that was Andrew Van Cura with the call on the Boulders Broadcast Network. The Boulders would go on to win, 5-1. Game two of the series is this morning at 11am. If you can’t make it to the stadium, catch all the action here on AM1700 WRCR.
