The New York Boulders took on the Sussex County Miners in a two-game series in Pomona Friday and Saturday, the last games before the Frontier League’s All-Star break. The Boulders won Friday’s contest, 8-7. On Saturday the score was tied 1-1 in the fifth when the Miners’ third baseman Mikey Reynolds was at the plate…
And that was Jacob Kronberg with Saturday’s call on the Boulders radio network here on WRCR. A double-play to end the inning would stop the bleeding there, but the Boulders would come back and win 6-5, ending the first half of the season on a three-game winning streak and a record of 30-27, within striking distance of a playoff spot. The Frontier League heads into their All-Star break at Wild Things Park in Washington, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, the Boulders are sending left-handed pitcher Danny Wirchansky, and outfielder David Vinsky. The next game the Boulders play will be in Pomona on Friday, when they start a series against the Florence Y’alls (Florence, Kentucky).
